Dear Parent/Guardian:
Parenting small children is extremely challenging as you nurture your child's physical, emotional, and academic development. Many parents wonder if their child is developing within the average range in these areas and, if not, what they can do to help their child.
As your educational partner, Wrightstown Community School District offers free educational screenings for children who will be 3-4 years of age by September 1, 2024. According to our school district census, you have a child in your household with this range. The purpose of this screening is to assist parents in monitoring their child's readiness levels prior to entering 4 or 5 year old kindergarten and to provide free educational resources to those children determined eligible for addistion assistance.
To help us better understand your child we ask that you please complete a questionnair (ASQ 3) online (please see the links below or scan the QR code to get started). If you don't have online access, please call Ashley Post at 920-532-4818 ext. 2105 and she will send you hard copies to fill out. If you completed a similar questionnair last year, please complete this again as these forms will reflect your child's development throughout this past year.
These questionnaires are designed to assess what your child can and cannot do based on development. Please keep in mind your child may not be able to complete all tasks successfully.
It is VERY important you attempt each activity with your child. In the first five sections, each question has three possible responses that should be checked as follows:
- Yes, meaning the child is doing the activity now.
- Sometimes, meaning the child is just beginning to do the activity.
- Not yet, meaning the child has not started to do the activity.
If you don't receive a follow-up email or letter by March 22, 2024 your child has scored in the normal range. If your child scores in a range below average on this questionnaire, a school staff member will contact you to schedule a free individualized screening for your child to further assess their readiness development. All information about your child and your family will be kept confidential.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Thank you for participating in this screening procedure.
