Softball is the ultimate team sport that requires commitment, accountability and teamwork of all players in order for the team to meet its goals and succeed. There are summer opportunities for middle school aged girls to get involved in softball through the Wrightstown Youth Girls Softball Association (wrightstowngirlssoftball.com). There are also more highly competitive traveling tournament teams in the area for girls with accelerated skills including Fox River Rush (Wrightstown- foxriverrush.com), Jr Phoenix (Players Choice-Appleton-pcappleton.com/softball) as well as Wisconsin Elite (Appleton-wisconsinelitesoftball.webs.com). The Wrightstown High School Softball program begins practice the 2nd week of March (starting 2013) with practices being held right after school. The high school program currently has participants to support JV and Varsity teams, if numbers would support a freshman team we will add that to the program. High school softball games typically start the first week of April and run through the third week of May when regional’s start, with two games a week average. We play an Olympian Conference schedule with a few non-conference games and typically one or two multi-game days or tournaments mixed in. The Wrightstown High School team also participates in a summer high school league at Bayport High School. That summer league typically runs through the months of June and July, playing games on Monday nights. Sign up and preseason meetings for high school softball are announced and held at the high school in the month of January.
